My Chem [Awake & Unafraid]

(no subject)

Today I was happy. And you know what?

I was glad to be happy becuase for the first time in a long time, I was just happy being me by myself. You never realize how hard that gets as you get older.

RPattz [Ugh]

Dear Exercise....

We're not friends. Let's face it. You like thin guys with running shoes and women who wear nothing but sports bras for tops. I'm not your man. I'd snarf down a cheeseburger anyday of the week rather than come to you, Exercise. And you know it.

But this thing that's been going on between us since Monday?

Yeah, I don't know what it is either.

You were there, I was there, there was all sunshine after a rainy week. You had that beautiful sky and warm air and I had been working all day and so fed up with people. It just, like, clicked. It was only supposed to be a walk. Just a meander around the neighborhood and back up the bayou. I'd bring the iPod, you would provide the scenery, and no one would have to know. The next day though, you were back. And the one after that. It's been six days now.

This is wrong.

We can't do this. You know we're just not meant for each other. You know you're gonna want more soon and I know you're too high maintence for me. I like to wear black and jeans in the summer. And I don't like to shower so sweating isn't really my thing.

So. Before things get serious, or we up hurting people, let's end this charade, kay?

Umbrella

Suspended

I'm officially tapped out on idea's for a Tuesday Top Ten. =/ Urrrrgggghhh. So they are temporarily suspended until I can devote my attention to it.

I'm really tired tonight. I worked seven and a half hours, getting up at 6:30 this morning. Then, for the second afternoon in a row, I went for an hour long walk. It's just been so nice outside for the past two days. Last week, it was nothing but gray and rain.

Anyway. I'm not feeling very talkative or cheery...kind of down actually.

I hope everyone did have a good St. Patrick's Day.

Text [My Phrase]

Darn

It's Tuesday and well, you know. This week, random hatred! This one might be a two-parter, because I hate a lot of people. Hahah.

Top Ten People I Hate
1. Two words. Rush. Limbaugh.
2. Stephanie Meyer. UGH. You have no idea.
3. Dane Cook. He's not funny!
4. Colin Ferrel. He's not hot! Nor can he act.
5. Anyone from 'The Hills'
6. Taylor Swift. Squinty eyed little cliche songwriter.
7. The Jonas Brothers.
8. Any other Disney kid star (ie...HSM, Camp Rock, Wizards, etc...whatever)
9. The Maddens. I don't know why.
10. Tom Cruise. He just creeps me out now.

This week was mostly uneventful. I had a transfusion yesterday; my head hurts today. I have work tonight, but I don't really feel like going.

The last couple of time I was working in Starbucks, my stomach started hurting. I thought maybe it was the coffee, so last time I didn't have anything with any coffee in it. I still got sick. Maybe it's the steamed milk? Then I thought "What if you're becoming lactose intolerant?" NO. I would DIE. I love dairy! Diary...? Daree? Whatever.

Being online is really boring these days.

Insert Clever Line Here

This week, I'm doing what I feel are the ten best books I've ever read. It's hard to put them in order really, but I tried.

Top Ten Books

1. Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice- DUH. How could you even THINK Brett would do a book list without an Anne Rice Vampire Chronicle book? This book was one of the most defining in my love of the Vampire mythology. It was after the movie, but I refused to watch it til I had finished the book. I loved it because of Louis, the lead character. He has such humanity and a yearning to maintain it in the face of all the things that happen to him throughout his life.

2. The Bell Jar by Slyvia Plath- the story of a young woman who has a wonderful life but gets depressed while away at college. She ends up trying to commit suicide, and is hospitalized in a rehab-like facility afterwards. It's dated of course, written in a time when depression and suicide were not widely acknowledged at illnesses.

3. Memoirs of a Geshia by Arthur Golden- long before the movie ever came out, I read the book and thought how amazing it would be as a movie. The movie is not nearly as good as the book, mind you. It was so violent and vivid when I read it.

4. Ladylord by Sasha Miller- it was the first "grown-up" book I ever really read; a fantasy novel about a woman who challenges the fuedal system of her fictional nation. It's no longer in print, I think, and it took my years to find a copy of it, but I finally did, so I'm currently rereading it.

5. Mick Hart was Here by Barbara Parks- a younger book, but it made a huge impression on me. It's about a very average family that loses their son in a bicycle accident.

6. The Once and Future King by T.H. White- one version of the complete Authurian legend, from boyhood on. It's a good fantasy read. It's also the basis of the Disney "Sword and the Stone".

7. The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury- I love Bradbury's works, but this is one of his less serious. It's about a journey through time and space a few friends take on a Halloween night with a creepy old man. They go and experience the history of Halloween from different places in a desperate effort to save the renegade soul of their best friend, which whom they are chasing after the whole time.

8. Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews- yes, one of those books. When I first started college, my friends and I would go to this bookstore we loved at least once a week and I would buy all these cheap, old books. That's how I ended up reading 'Flowers'. I had always heard it was weird and controversial, so naturally, I wanted to read it. As I read it, I was shocked even now by some of its' content, and even more so how I felt the lead characters really were innocent in the end, despite their relationship.

9. Born Confused by Tanju Desi Hidier- a young Indian American woman deals with the pressures of her family and culture in the modern world. It's hilarious.

10. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling- even though it ended rather anticlimatically, it was a good read for kids and adults. It was highly entertaining.

Last night I had a dream.

You were beautiful and I was just how I have always pictured myself being.

We were in a hot, big city; summertime, I think. We were rolling around in a car, windows down, laughing and drinking. We held hands while you were driving. You said we can't, and I, like many things, wouldn't let go...so you gave in.

And I realized one more mistake in my life.
